Great Camps of the Adirondacks

For the wealthy in the late 1800s and early 1900s, a Great Camp in the Adirondacks was a way to get out of the hot city heat of the summer and enjoy the outdoors.

These camps were huge, often well over 20,000 square feet, spread across dozens of buildings.  Full-time staff maintained the simple exterior and the elaborate interiors.
